Fertility Counselling in Adelaide
Fertility treatment is rarely just a medical process. It can affect your relationship, your work, your sense of yourself, and the way you feel about the future. Many patients tell us the hardest part isn’t the appointments, it’s everything in between.
Family Fertility Centre offers fertility counselling in Adelaide with Dr Emma Warne, a clinical psychologist with a particular focus on this area. Emma sees individuals and couples at any stage, whether you’re just starting to consider treatment, in the middle of a cycle, navigating a loss, or deciding what comes next. She is also our nominated psychologist for donor-conception counselling.

General Fertility Counselling
Fertility treatment asks a lot of you. You don’t have to carry it alone.
Working with a psychologist during treatment is not a sign that something has gone wrong. It’s a practical way to build the tools you need for a process that can be long and unpredictable.
Emma sees individuals and couples at every stage: while you’re deciding whether to start, during a cycle, after a loss, when treatment has gone on longer than you expected, and when you’re weighing up whether to continue.
As an FFC patient, you can ask us for a referral to our counsellor at any stage of your fertility journey. You don’t need to be in crisis, sometimes it simply helps to have someone to talk to when things feel harder than expected.
Send us your details and our team will be in touch to arrange a referral. Everything you share stays confidential.
Donor-Conception Counselling
Considering donor conception? Counselling is part of the pathway.
If you’re using donor eggs, sperm or embryos, or considering becoming a donor, counselling is a mandatory part of the process. This applies whether your donor is someone you know or is clinic-recruited.
These sessions cover the questions that matter over the long term: what you’ll tell a child about how they were conceived, the South Australian Donor Conception Register, and the possibility of future contact with a donor or donor-conceived siblings.
Emma is FFC’s nominated psychologist for donor-conception counselling. If you’re donating and have a partner, we encourage them to take part too.
Not sure whether this applies to you? Send us a message and our team will walk you through it.
Counselling referrals are available to Family Fertility Centre patients who are planning or undergoing treatment. If you’re not a patient yet, contact us today.
