With over 20 years of experience, Dr Marcin is a highly trained senior gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon specialising in fertility-enhancing surgery. He is one of a handful of sub-specialists in Adelaide with a CREI qualification: Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Having worked with most of Adelaide’s fertility specialists across various IVF clinics, he offers in depth and unbiased advice on the merits of each service.
Dr Fariba Behnia-Willison
Dr Fariba Behnia-Willison is a fully accredited Gynaecologist and an advocate for women’s health. Dr Melissa Oxlad
Empowering people to better manage their health and well-being. Melissa is a Clinical and Health Psychologist, and Hypnotherapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia) in independent part-time private practice. Melissa has over 15 years clinical experience working across the public sector, not for profit sector and private practice.
Emma Warne is a clinical and forensic psychologist in private practice at Glenelg South. She has been consulting as a clinical psychologist for over 15 years and she has a special place in her heart for fertility work. Emma’s goal is to support clients to develop sufficient strategies and tools that they can navigate life challenges with a smile. She utilises Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and other modalities, to suit individual need. Emma is also currently completing her PhD in Psychology, developing a group psychological program to support women going through fertility treatment.
Paula is our Unit Nurse Manager & Registered Nurse Sonographer. With 35 years’ experience in reproductive medicine, immeasurable knowledge & immense passion for her patients – she is an asset to the Family Fertility team. Paula is a registered nurse, accredited by Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology ultrasound, and has completed the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Nurse Certificate course.
Dr. Herman Fernandes is the Scientific Director at Family Fertility Centre. He has more than 25 years of experience in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and has developed special interest quality control, quality assurance and management of IVF laboratories. Over the years he has successfully designed, trained and implemented evidence-based technologies that are clinically relevant in improving IVF success rates, and looks forward to utilising these skills for the patient of Family Fertility Centre.
Elisha is one of our scientists. Her passion for ovarian cell biology and embryonic development stem from her studies at the University of Adelaide. Elisha has completed a Health and Medical Sciences degree majoring in reproductive sciences and further received first class honors for her research at Robinson Research Institute investigating mitochondrial targeted therapeutics to improve ovulation, fertilization, embryo development and blastocyst quality in a high BMI model. Now as a clinical embryologist and member of FSA and SIRT, Elisha is very excited to share her research background, knowledge, and skillset to help patients fulfil their dreams of a family. As an embryologist she is very focused in providing optimal environment for the gametes, and embryos in the laboratory. She is very empathetic and devoted in providing excellent care, as she understands that this journey can be difficult. Her kind, warm hearted nature makes her an asset to the Family Fertility Centre.
Gracie is one of our embryologists. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Adelaide where she majored in reproductive biology. Her interest in clinical embryology led her to complete her Honours degree in embryo viability research and was awarded first class honours. Gracie has worked in the IVF industry for over five years and is an active member of Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) and Scientists in Reproductive Technologies (SIRT). Gracie is passionate about providing the best possible care for your sperm, eggs, and embryos by using the most up to date technology. She is compassionate, empathetic, and there for you throughout your fertility journey to achieve a healthy baby or preserve your future fertility. Her interests in embryo viability and embryo culture systems make her valuable addition to the scientific team.
Suli is one of our scientists. He is a passionate clinical embryologist, researcher and ART enthusiast. Suli is a final year PhD student at the University of Adelaide investigating a novel IVF technology, having already completed a bachelor of science in biochemistry, a graduate diploma in reproductive sciences and a master’s degree in clinical embryology. In his spare time, Suli enjoys reading, going to the gym, playing soccer, beach walks and socialising with friends and family.
Gabby is a registered nurse who has worked in fertility for the past 5 years. She is extremely passionate about patient care and strives to provide individualised support for each patient. Gabby enjoys expanding her medical knowledge and clinical skills, and looks forward to putting those skills to use whilst helping each patient achieve their goal of parenthood.
Caterina has worked within the healthcare industry for over 10 years. With experience in hospitals, medical imaging and now fertility, her wide range of knowledge is an asset to help guide patients through their treatment and especially understand Medicare & Private Health. Caterina is the Patient Services Manager at Family Fertility, and along with her dedicated team of administrators, will explain the financial costs and fees associated with your cycle.
Martina has worked as a medical administrator for over fifteen years and thoroughly enjoys patient contact. She works closely with the clinicians, patients, Medicare and private health funds to ensure our patients have the smoothest journey possible. Martina is committed to making every patient’s experience with Family Fertility Centre a positive one.
Hayley provides administration support to the Family Fertility team. She has been in the fertility industry since 2016 and in the medical field for 10 years, coming from a busy ophthalmology clinic. Hayley has developed a strong sense of devotion to Family Fertility and their patients. Hayley enjoys her friendly interactions with patients and making them feel at home. In her spare time Hayley enjoys spending time with her teenage son. You can find Hayley most Saturdays in Gawler watching her son play inline hockey.
